I have made my obsession with Chanel Le Vernis nail colours very clear on my previous posts.  That obsession has just gone into overdrive with the launch of the Illusions D'Ombres de Chanel Fall collection.

I cannot wait to get my hands on the three new colours: Graphite, Peridot and Quartz.

There are also some amazing lip and eye shades available.  

The colours are perfect for Fall/Winter, I mean how stunning on the model below?!

MET Costume Institute Gala

I love red carpet fashion and the annual MET Costume Institute Gala never disappoints, with a guestlist that featurs fashions elite aswell as A list actors and performers.

Muted Tones...

Many stars chose to wear muted whites, beiges and flesh tones this year, my favourite is Diane Krugers Calvin Klein gown, so simply and effortlessly chic.

Metallics...

There was an array of metallic fabrics and sequins, I love Chanel Imans daring harem jumpsuit, it is so far from the more traditional gowns that are usually seen here.

Colour...

A handful of stars chose to wear colour to the event.  Chloe Sevigny's short dress is a great contrast to all the full length gowns.

Most Original...

Alexa Chung wore head to toe 3.1 Philip Lim and looked fabulous doing so.  Alexa is not afraid to experiment and I love that she did something so different, she always looks incredible.

Tribeca Film Festival Fashion

The 2010 Tribeca Film Festival bought out many celebs and the red carpet fashion was amazing.

I loved Amanda Seyfried's look of a Viktor and Rolf jacket and Roger Vivier Epine pumps, her hair looked great scraped back and high with a shoe string headband.

 

Zoe Kravitz looked stunning in Chanel, at a party for the label.  I need those metallic toed pumps!

Diane Kruger wore a laid look of sweater, harem pants and a 2.55 bag all by Chanel.

Best Dressed...

Props to Jessica Alba who looked incredible at every event she attended...

Jessica wore a black leather shift and the incredible Philip Lim by Louboutin Blondie booties, a flowing white Chloe dress with Marni shoes, a Proenza Schouler printed shift and wedges.

Chanel Summer 2010 Beauty

  

As I have mentioned in a previous blog I am a Chanel Le Vernis nail colour devotee and am always eager to find out what the next big colour will be!  After the outrageous success of Jade in 09 and the sell out of the Particulière shade earlier this year everyone has been guessing what is coming next...

Wanting...

Here is the Summer 2010 Chanel Le Vernis colour pallette, from left to right Nouvelle Vague, Mistral and Riviera.  Nouvelle Vague is the stand out as it resembles last years Jade and I am guessing this will be the shade with wait lists.  I particularily like the Riviera clour as I love to have brightly coloured nails in Summer, I will of course purchase all three when they are released in the UK on May 7th.

I am also lusting after the Gloss Fluo de Chanel in Laser too.

 Wearing...

 As I have a couple more weeks to wait before I can try the new brights I thought that I should try an existing shade and opted for Orange Fizz a coraly colour that is georgous in the sunshine.

Leather Vest

Everybody has a trusty leather jacket, I wear mine most days but this summer I am going to ditch it for a more season appropriate leather vest. A hybrid that seems long overdue is perfect for adding an edge to a pretty summer dress or completing a simple jeans and tee look.

Olivia Palermo's Wardrobe

I have a major style crush on The City's Olivia Palermo.  She mixes high fashion with high street and has some amazing vintage accessories.

This month Olivia has opened up her wardrobe to Vogue UK and is featured in the "Today I'm Wearing..." section.  Everyday Olivia posts a picture and breakdown of her outfit, I have checked the site religiously everyday and am loving all of her looks, here are a few of my favourites...

Olivia wears: Markus Lupfer dress (altered to a top), Daryl K leather pants, sequinned Converse Chuck Taylor's, Hermès Birkin bag, Noir bracelet and a vintage scarf.

 Olivia wears: leather jacket, shirt, bag and necklace are all from Topshop, skirt by Topshop Unique, shoes by Zara and bracelet and ring are vintage.

 Olivia wears: jacket, jeans and shoes all by Topshop, Rebecca Taylor tee, Birkin bag again and a gold Rolex watch.
I love how Olivia puts outfits together and accessorizes, she always looks amazing from head to toe.

Olivia's Apartment

Olivia's style is not limited to her wardrobe, she has an amazing apartment in New York that is regularily featured on The City.  It's a perfect blend of modern pieces and vintage finds and has the perfect finishing touches much like her fashion.  My favourite piece is the Hermès tray she has displayed on her coffee table...I need one!

Wanting

Olivia has teamed up with Roberta Freymann to launch a collection of necklaces that are available online and range from $250-$270, here are the Mitte, Tribeca and Le Marais pieces.  My favourite is definitely the Le Marais, named after Olivia's favourite Paris district...
